Dan English is an underground Brooklyn-based artist, who until now, has only released one marvellously quirky EP titled Fruit Boy back in 2018. With a distinct vocal, and folky guitar strums, his sound is classic, yet progressive, due to the strange production and electronics that Dan embellishes his tracks with. Dan's new song 'Shadow' is out alongside an impressive home-made computer animation. The song goes between heavenly, emotive synth parts to intimate and bare-skinned sections consisting of plucked guitar, piano and vocals. The metallic harpsichord melody that starts the song invites a sense of boundlessness, followed by a quietening, whereby Dan's whispered vocals emerge in harmony with female vocals from Melody English. The bass guitar and twinkling piano builds to a continually rising chorus that sees Dan's vocals stretch the words 'my shadow'. 'Shadow' is the first song of a new 5-track EP that's yet to come...we'll keep our eyes peeled for the rest. -Ellie Rose-Davies
